Calabai Akan Terus Menari

Short Documentary | 22’32”
"Calabai akan Terus Menari" or Calabai Will Always Dance follows the journey of a transgender woman (Calabai) as she traces the legacy of Pajoge Angkong, which is still alive today.
Pajoge Angkong dance is a traditional folk dance performed by Calabai in the past, usually showcased to enliven night markets held at the king's command, filling traditional ceremonies or public festivities conducted at night. The encounters with two Pajoge Angkong performers, Puang Corra and Haji Bunga, yield numerous stories about their lives in the past.
